Maizy Brasher, M.A. (she/her) is an information science professional working under the joint mentorship of Drs. Joanne Cole and Chris Gignoux in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and the Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine. Maizy graduated in 2023 with her Master’s in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder, where she worked at the Institute for Behavioral Genetics investigating the shared genetic architecture underlying substance use and mental health disorders, primarily anxiety and depressive disorders. Her research uses large-scale genetic data and statistical methods as tools to better understand the genetics of complex human traits. Outside of work Maizy loves to rock climb, read, play games of all kinds, and spend time with her friends and family.
